1. Plug the cable into your camera’s remote shutter port
2. Press the button halfway to focus (it’s like pressing the shutter button on your camera halfway down)
3. After focus is obtained, press button completely to release shutter (same as pressing the shutter button on your camera all the way down)
4. For long time exposures (beyond what you can set for shutter speed on your camera), press the button completely down and slide it forward to lock it.
