Jimbu pronounced (jim-bu), is a dried, aromatic, perennial herb that is virtually unknown outside the Himalayan region.
It's common name is Nepal aromatic leaf garlic and shallots.
Jimbu is an herb belonging to the onion family.
It is also known as jhiku-cha in Newari language and jamboo/faran in Uttarakhand and in India.
It provides excellent seasoning spice with desirable aroma used in pulse soup, vegetable curry and lenthal soup.
It has got medicinal properties as well.
